JOANNA LOWE
Not many physiotherapists have stood on a marathon start line, competed at county level hockey, and rebuilt their own body after two pregnancies. Jo has - and that journey from athlete to mother to clinician shapes everything about how she treats you.
Jo holds a BSc and MSc in Physiotherapy and Sport Massage, specialist postgraduate training in Pelvic, Obstetric & Gynaecological Physiotherapy, and has worked across both the NHS and private practice. It’s a combination you almost never find in one clinician - deep MSK expertise and specialist women’s health training side by side. But what really sets Jo apart is that none of it is theoretical. She’s been the runner who couldn’t run, and the new mum trying to get her body back. She didn’t read about those experiences in a textbook - she lived them, and they’re the reason she practises the way she does.
Before physiotherapy, Jo spent years in senior marketing leadership. It’s not the usual path into healthcare, but it left her with something most clinicians never get trained in: how to actually communicate. She doesn’t just assess you and hand over a plan. She makes sure you understand what’s happening, why it matters - and what you need to do about it.
At Fit2Go, Jo’s clinical work centres on two specialisms: musculoskeletal injury and women’s health. Her MSK caseload spans complex and persistent injuries in active populations - from athletes and runners to beginners and anyone who refuses to let pain dictate what they can and can’t do. Her women’s health practice covers pregnancy, postnatal rehabilitation, return to sport, and the musculoskeletal impact of menopause - an area she considers significantly underserved and one she is actively developing within her clinical work at the clinic.
Jo’s patient feedback speaks for itself - people come back because they trust her, and they refer others because they know she’ll look after them. Her clinical approach is evidence-based and individually tailored, as well as being informed by a breadth of experience that very few physiotherapists can offer.
